PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Lambert George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Henson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ca fait mal. Henson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Surrender. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henson darts in trying to clinch
letting George counter with a right hand.
Henson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from George finds it's way round the side to connect with Henson's head.

George closes the distance and clinches.
Henson can't find room to land a body shot as George controls the action.

George throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Henson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Henson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but George paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Henson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It looks like George has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

enabling George to counter with a crisp jab.

George swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Michael Henson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
George walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
George paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and George counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Henson thinking.
Good leg kick by George there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Henson doesn't manage to clinch there - George circles away.
George looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Henson tries a body shot but George blocks it.
George gets through Henson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

George digs a right hand into Henson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Henson's gas tank.
Henson unloads a knee to the mid-section. George lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
George will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Henson up against the ropes.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

George seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Henson walks into a straight right hand and goes down! George rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Henson has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.

Henson drops his guard momentarily, allowing George to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Henson! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! George takes it!
