Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tapio Sammalkorpi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sammalkorpi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sloan wants to get back to his feet but Sammalkorpi is dominant here and he's now got Sloan's back!
Sloan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Sammalkorpi connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Sloan to escape the position.
Sloan wants to get back to his feet.
Sammalkorpi is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Sloan manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sammalkorpi's guard. Nice work there by Sloan.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sloan is not content to let Sammalkorpi control the position.

Sammalkorpi has hold of Sloan's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sloan tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sammalkorpi cranks the arm and Sloan screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sloan, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
