Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 wins, 4 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Whitaker !
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Whitaker - just one landing.

It looks like Kim Jong Guk has been cut.
Jong Guk looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jong Guk shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Whitaker has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jong Guk is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jong Guk. Whitaker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jong Guk.
Jong Guk throws a quick inside leg kick.
Jong Guk throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Jong Guk takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A low kick from Jong Guk is predictable there
and Whitaker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Whitaker takes one to the chin there.
Whitaker takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jong Guk throws a hook to the side of Whitaker 's head but Whitaker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Whitaker ! But no joy.
Jong Guk wants to slow Whitaker down by chopping away at his legs.
Jong Guk tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jong Guk misses with a low kick as Whitaker jumps back.
Jong Guk misses with a few strikes there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Whitaker swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Whitaker swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Jong Guk works the jab nicely.
Whitaker throws a hook but Jong Guk blocks it.
Jong Guk misses with an attempted mid kick.
Whitaker ducks under a wild hook from Jong Guk.
Jong Guk tries to land a front kick but Whitaker steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jong Guk scores with a jab.
Whitaker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Whitaker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jong Guk.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jong Guk.
Jong Guk misses with a lunging right hand
and Whitaker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Whitaker takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Whitaker lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Whitaker .
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jong Guk uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Whitaker .

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jong Guk pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Whitaker misses with a hook. Jong Guk ducked under it nicely.
Whitaker might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Whitaker works Jong Guk's body with a nice hook.
Jong Guk throws the kick towards the body but Whitaker avoids it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Whitaker ! But no joy.
Whitaker swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Jong Guk counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jong Guk throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Whitaker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jong Guk is rocked!
Whitaker stuns Jong Guk with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Oh Jong Guk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jong Guk is breathing heavily.
Whitaker lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Jong Guk up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Whitaker from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Jong Guk's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ray Whitaker !
