PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Zertiis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reeves kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Natural Born Killaz. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeves will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Reeves slips under a jab from Zertiis.

Zertiis moves into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Zertiis.

Zertiis is trying to trip Reeves. He has hold of a leg but Reeves is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Zertiis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Zertiis pushes down on Reeves's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Zertiis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Zertiis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Zertiis is keen to just control but Reeves is a slippery customer.

Zertiis shoots in looking for a takedown. Reeves tries to sprawl out of it but Zertiis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reeves manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Reeves closes the distance and pushes Zertiis back into the cage.

Reeves looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

It looks like Desmond Zertiis has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reeves pushes off an throws an elbow but Zertiis leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Reeves jabs Zertiis right on the nose. Zertiis blinks but takes it well.
Reeves looks to score with a jab to the body but Zertiis is just out of range.
Reeves is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zertiis can do to turn this around?
Reeves throws a head kick that misses.
Zertiis dives in and grabs Reeves's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reeves pushes down on Zertiis's head and hops out.
Zertiis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reeves tries to avoid it but Zertiis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reeves to the ground. Reeves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
