Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Curtis Rodriquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tree Sclounce !
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sclounce moves in looking to clinch but Rodriquez pushes him off.

Rodriquez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sclounce manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Rodriquez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rodriquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sclounce on the ground.
Rodriquez throwing strikes from guard but Sclounce blocks nicely.
Rodriquez wants to control from the top but Sclounce keeps moving.

Sclounce is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rodriquez defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sclounce wants to hit a switch here but Rodriquez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sclounce there!

Sclounce tries to lock up and control but Rodriquez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sclounce is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Rodriquez wants to control the pace but Sclounce is squirming around nicely.

Rodriquez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sclounce is looking to escape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Rodriquez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sclounce does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rodriquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sclounce looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rodriquez!
Rodriquez seems a little lost for a moment, as Sclounce dominates the positioning.

Sclounce in side control lands a decent elbow.
Sclounce lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Rodriquez wants to control but Sclounce postures up.
Sclounce connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rodriquez some visible discomfort.
Sclounce wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodriquez keeps working.
Sclounce lands a nice forearm strike.
Rodriquez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Sclounce stands up from half guard.

Rodriquez shoots in but no luck this time.

Sclounce changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rodriquez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rodriquez is trying to control Sclounce 's posture but Sclounce avoids it.
Rodriquez is looking to reverse the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sclounce controlling from side mount.
Sclounce misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Sclounce controls the position.
Sclounce wants to stand but Rodriquez is controlling his arm.

Sclounce swings around for an armbar but Rodriquez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sclounce 's guard.

Sclounce is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rodriquez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sclounce not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sclounce manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rodriquez manages to get himself to full guard.

Rodriquez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rodriquez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sclounce is trying to control but can't.
Sclounce is positioning himself well to prevent Rodriquez advancing to mount.
Sclounce wants to control but Rodriquez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rodriquez not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Sclounce works his way to full guard. Good work.
Sclounce is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rodriquez is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rodriquez chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tree Sclounce showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!



Sclounce feints and as Rodriquez raises his hands in defense, Sclounce changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sclounce would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Rodriquez wants to improve his position but instead Sclounce has moved into half guard.
Sclounce stalling.

Sclounce prevents Rodriquez from improving his position.
Nice strikes from Sclounce there.

Sclounce moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Rodriquez.
Rodriquez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Sclounce lands a nice shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodriquez bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Sclounce pulls Rodriquez in to control the position.

Sclounce has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Rodriquez doesn't defend quickly enough and Sclounce has managed to lock this one up! Can Rodriquez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sclounce on a fantastic submission victory.
