Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Capelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hyashi Hayakawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capelli throws a right hand that Hayakawa ducks under and follows up with a left that Hayakawa also avoids with ease.
Hayakawa is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Capelli lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hayakawa circles away quickly and effectively.
Hayakawa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Hayakawa counters with a single leg into guard. Capelli didn't expect that.

Capelli manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Capelli pushes Hayakawa away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hayakawa gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Capelli will probably get the nod.

Well Hayakawa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
