PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Macadam Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Squirell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Squirell has chosen Do Ya Think I'm Sexy-Revolting Cocks as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Squirell!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Squirell forces Baird back against the cage and clinches.
Baird tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Squirell smiles and moves away.
Squirell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Baird manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Baird fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Baird looks for a takedown but Squirell sprawls well.
A nice side step and Squirell releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Macadam Baird. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Squirell gets caught flat footed, as Baird shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Squirell is looking to stand up but Baird isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baird slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

so Baird counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Baird drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baird jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Baird is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Squirell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Squirell has escaped and now he's on top!

Baird is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Baird wants to take a breather but Squirell is having none of it.
Squirell wants to stand back up but Baird manages to pass into side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Baird wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Squirell, who protects the arm well.

Baird is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Squirell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Squirell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Baird has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Squirell is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Baird yanks on the arm and Squirell is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Baird.
