Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Little Rick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cris Cyborg!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cyborg misses with a looping left.
Cyborg swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rick fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rick tries for a takedown but Cyborg circles away easily
and Cyborg counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Little Rick has been cut.
Cyborg thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rick closes the distance and clinches up with Cyborg, looking for a takedown. Rick pushes Cyborg against the cage but Cyborg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It seemed like Cyborg was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Little Rick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cyborg throws a jab when Rick was well out of range.
Cyborg with a nice cross.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A slow jab from Cyborg misses its intended target.
Cris Cyborg is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cyborg connects with a combination that backs up Rick into the cage. Cyborg lands a flurry of punches that gets past Rick's guard. Rick is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Cyborg bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cris Cyborg!
