PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Vogel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weber comes into the arena with Bad Boys blaring out of the sound system. Joshua Weber looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vogel pushes Weber up against the cage in a clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Weber has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Weber drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vogel pulls his leg out and moves away.
Weber shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vogel as he jumps to the side.

Vogel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Weber will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Vogel stands up over Weber, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Vogel's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vogel distracts Weber with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vogel is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Vogel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Weber is breathing heavily.
Vogel is in close to Weber's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vogel lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Weber is rocked!
Vogel advances to half guard.
Oh Weber is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vogel drops an elbow to the side of Weber's head.
Vogel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Weber is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Vogel scores with a couple of nice shots.
Vogel winds up and cracks Weber with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vogel lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Vogel is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Weber is hurt! He's hurt bad - Vogel fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Weber from any more punishment! Congratulations to Vogel! Great finish!
