Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Myles Newell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cubert Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua misses with a few strikes there.
Rua looks to land a combination but Newell avoids it well.
Newell misses with an uppercut. Rua saw that one coming.
Newell looks for a takedown but Rua sprawls well.
Newell just misses with a punch to the body.
Rua misses with a wild body shot.
Newell connects with a leg kick. Rua looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Newell throws a hook but Rua avoids it easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Rua misses.
Newell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Newell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rua throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Rua with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Newell to score with a decent uppercut.
Newell throws a hook but Rua blocks it.

Newell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Newell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rua has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Newell has managed to get both his arms back between Rua 's legs - danger averted.

Rua has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Newell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rua might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Newell haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Rua has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Newell is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rua .

Newell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
