The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stoppers darts in and clinches Richards up against the cage.
Richards misses with a body punch.
Richards tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Stoppers pushes Richards back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Stoppers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Stoppers has closed the distance and engaged Richards in a clinch.

Stoppers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've been informed that Stoppers has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Stoppers bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Richards fails to land with a series of punches.
Richards swats away the attempt to clinch by Stoppers.
A looping hook to the body misses from Richards. Stoppers does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stoppers tries to clinch but Richards moves out of range.
An attempted straight right counter from Richards misses the target.
Stoppers throws a hook but Richards avoids it easily.
Richards stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Stoppers wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Richards takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Willy Stoppers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stoppers throws an off balance right hand
and Richards counters with a nice uppercut.

Stoppers lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Richards circles away quickly and effectively.

Stoppers clinches up with Richards and pushes him back against the cage.
Richards can't find room to land a body shot as Stoppers controls the action.

Stoppers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Stoppers tries a quick counter leg kick but Richards is wise to it.

Richards lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Stoppers has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Stoppers there as he acknowledges the shot.

Stoppers is rocked!
Richards feints a jab and as Stoppers dips his head, Richards unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Stoppers right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Stoppers falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Richards smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
