Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tanner Pounds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tanner Pounds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Pounds misses the target.
Jones swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Jones checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pounds doesn't seem bothered though.
Pounds throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Pounds scores with a hook to the body. Jones takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pounds.
Pounds is looking to chop away at Jones's legs.
Pounds misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pounds checks a leg kick.
Tanner Pounds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pounds throws a good cross that connects.
A slapping leg kick lands for Pounds.
Pounds throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Pounds takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Pounds gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Jones tries to throw a body punch but Pounds avoids it by throwing Jones back against the cage.
Pounds tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pounds misses with a punch to the body.
Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pounds misses with a hook to the ribs.
Jones blocks an elbow strike.
Jones working aggressively here.
Pounds taking a breather.
Jones blocks a body shot from Pounds.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pounds prevents it.
Pounds is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Jones can't get the takedown.
Tanner Pounds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig Jones.
Jones jumps guard but Pounds stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jones pulls Pounds into guard.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pounds postures up.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pounds trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pounds throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Pounds from controlling successfully.
Pounds tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pounds lands a couple of elbows.
Pounds stands and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Pounds in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Pounds landing a few strikes.
Pounds controls the position.
Pounds cracks Jones with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Pounds working away.
Jones is trying to get back to half guard.
Pounds is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pounds wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Pounds in side control lands a decent elbow.

Pounds cracks Jones with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Pounds scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK.
Pounds lands an elbow.
Jones tries to buck Pounds off but Pounds is having none of it.
Jones keeps trying to improve his position.
Jones takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Pounds cracks Jones with an elbow. That is naaassty.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Jones's face as Pounds controls the position.
Pounds lands a nice forearm strike.
Jones is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Pounds working the ground and pound.
Jones is not content to let Pounds control the position.
Pounds cracks Jones with a big right hand but Jones just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tanner Pounds dominated that round.

Pounds misses with a hook to the body
and Jones makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Jones.
Jones avoids the body shot from Pounds.
Pounds fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Jones checks it well.

Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Pounds makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Pounds manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Pounds has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jones clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Pounds has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pounds is landing with strikes. Jones can't take much more of this.
Pounds is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pounds is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
