Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christian Kondyt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whyte misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kondyt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Whyte defends well and Kondyt ends up having to push Whyte into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kondyt takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Christian Kondyt has been cut.
Kondyt thuds his right hand into Whyte's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Whyte was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Kondyt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kondyt showed some decent athleticism there.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kondyt misses with a takedown attempt - Whyte sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
