Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anzhor Azhiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monroe's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Deep Ocean - Island drumming. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Monroe.
Monroe lands with a straight right. Azhiev didn't see that one coming.
Monroe closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Monroe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Azhiev manages to avoid it.
Monroe misses with a wild combination.
Crunch! Monroe slams his shin into Azhiev's torso.
Azhiev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Monroe is fending him off so far but Azhiev persists. Nope, Monroe circles away and we're back to standing.
Azhiev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Monroe pinned against the cage. Monroe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Azhiev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Monroe sprawls well. Monroe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Azhiev gets slowly back to his feet.
Ricky Monroe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anzhor Azhiev.
Monroe throws a front kick that sends Azhiev stumbling back into the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Azhiev goes for a double leg but Monroe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Monroe continues to drive forward.

Azhiev closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Azhiev shoots and misses
so Monroe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Monroe sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Azhiev's guard.
Monroe is nestled in close to Azhiev, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Azhiev is not content to let Monroe control the position.
Monroe winds up and cracks Azhiev with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Monroe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Azhiev on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Monroe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Azhiev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Azhiev is defending against the submission attempts here by Monroe.

Monroe lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Monroe is pressing down on Azhiev's thigh, looking to free his foot. Azhiev is holding on for now.

Monroe lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Azhiev quite badly. Azhiev pulls Monroe in close trying to recover. Monroe postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Azhiev on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Azhiev doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricky Monroe!
An out of breath Ricky Monroe thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Anzhor Azhiev had this to say: 'I still want that title shot. Im the most experienced fighter here and everyday wants to see me smash the champ so lets do it whenever he starts ducking me.'.
