The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alstott wants to clinch up but Mancini keeps it at a distance.
Mancini misses with a double jab.
Mancini scores with a crisp jab that stopped Alstott in his tracks.
Mancini throws a low kick, looking for Alstott's leg but Alstott calmly moves out of range.
Mancini swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Alstott forces Mancini back against the cage and clinches.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Alstott breaks from the clinch.
Alstott is looking to clinch.
Alstott avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mancini throws a shot to the body.
Mancini misses with an uppercut.
Mancini connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Alstott swings wildly with an uppercut but Mancini uses good head movement to avoid it.

Alstott tries to throw a body punch but Mancini avoids it by throwing Alstott back against the cage.
Alstott misses with the head strike.

Mancini fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Alstott misses with a hook from the clinch.
Alstott blocks an uppercut.
Alstott lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mancini backwards.
Mancini blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Mancini has a couple of punches blocked by Alstott.
Mancini scores with a shoulder strike.
Alstott creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

A frustrated look appears on Mancini's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Alstott swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Alstott is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Mancini blocks the elbow strike.
Mancini lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mancini misses with a hook to the ribs.
Alstott misses with a body punch.

Alstott gets control of Mancini's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alstott will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mancini stops Alstott from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alstott looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alstott fails with a takedown attempt.
It looked like Mancini was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mancini scores with a jab to the jaw.
Alstott tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Mancini counters with a crisp right hand that drops Alstott! Mancini lets Alstott back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Zack Alstott has been cut.
Alstott drops his hands momentarily. Mancini doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Alstott staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Alstott doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
