Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Weber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Dyna!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyna throws a lazy right hand but Weber sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Weber half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Dyna keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Weber.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dyna. Weber does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dyna misses with a hook.
Dyna misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Weber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dyna wants to get back to striking at distance but Weber won't allow it.

Weber ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Weber no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dyna wants to stand but Weber is controlling his posture from full guard.
Weber really is a fat lump.
Weber pulls Dyna in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dyna tries to stand but Weber is controlling from the bottom.
Weber striking off his back but it's not causing Dyna any problems.
Weber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Weber seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dyna has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Weber is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dyna fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dyna throws a big shot that misses.
Dyna jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Weber slips a straight right by Dyna.
Dyna's jab looks to have found its range, popping Weber under the eye.
Weber slips a jab from Dyna.

Weber moves into the clinch successfully.
Weber prevents Dyna from breaking the clinch.
Weber is trying to pull guard but Dyna has him pressed against the cage.
Weber keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dyna's efforts to push away.

Weber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dyna throws a good cross that connects.
Dyna throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dyna throws a combination that misses

and Weber counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Weber looking to throw knees to the head but Dyna is blocking nicely.

Weber drags the fight down to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dyna would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Weber is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dyna looks like he's trying to stand up.
Weber looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Weber lands strikes from half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dyna can do anything to dispel that myth.
Weber controlling the pace.
Weber slips a nice elbow through Dyna's hands, connecting with Dyna's forehead.
Weber scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Weber prevents Dyna from standing back up.
Weber lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dyna tries to kick Weber off but Weber keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Weber working over Dyna with some ground and pound. Dyna looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Dyna is trying to stand up here but Weber is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Weber winds up and cracks Dyna with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dyna pushes Weber off, looking to escape but Weber dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Dyna is forced to tap! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jake Weber!
