PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Cobb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Getzat Downe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cobb closes the distance and clinches.
Cobb is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Downe is defending well.
Cobb is trying to pull guard but Downe has him pressed against the cage.
Cobb is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Cobb. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cobb breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cobb really is a fat lump.
Cobb slips a jab and a cross from Downe.
Cobb tries to counter by clinching up but Downe breaks away and moves out of range.
Cobb scores with a hook to the body. Downe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobb moves in looking to clinch but Downe pushes him off.
Downe avoids the head kick by Cobb.
Downe throws a right and a left that Cobb avoids nicely.
Jeremy Cobb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Downe wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A short body shot lands from Cobb as the two fighters clinch.
Downe is trying to force a seperation but Cobb has the dominant position.

Cobb throws an elbow but it's blocked.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cobb is trying to break the clinch but Downe has him pressed against the cage.
Cobb lands a shoulder strike.

Downe is looking to break free of the clinch but Cobb has double underhooks.

Downe gets underhooks to prevent Cobb's takedown attempt.

Cobb pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Downe throws a leg kick but Cobb moved away.
Cobb throws a right hand that Downe ducks under and follows up with a left that Downe also avoids with ease.
Downe lands a glancing blow to the side of Cobb's head.

Cobb has closed the distance and engaged Downe in a clinch.
Downe has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Downe can't break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cobb tries for a takedown but Downe manages to get underhooks.

Cobb pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Downe avoids the head kick by Cobb.
Downe throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Cobb colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Downe as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Cobb is left battered and dazed whilst Downe and his camp cheer!
