Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Liu lands in his opponent's guard.
Liu forces his way into half guard.

Liu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.

Liu seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt.
Jones keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Liu working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Jones is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Liu is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jones shrugs it off.

Liu is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jones can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Liu working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Liu is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jones is surviving well by controlling Liu's body position as best he can.

Liu won't let Jones get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Liu is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Jones is forced to tap! Great finish!

Wei Liu spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
