Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tamotsu Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ned Nedeltsev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tamotsu Honda is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tamotsu Honda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ned Nedeltsev!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honda throws a head kick that misses

and Nedeltsev counters with a single leg into guard. Honda didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Honda kicks Nedeltsev off and gets to his feet.
Honda tries to work over Nedeltsev's front leg with a kick but Nedeltsev checks it.

Honda gets caught napping as Nedeltsev dives in and scores a takedown. Honda manages to retain guard.
Honda wants to get back to his feet but Nedeltsev passes into half guard.

Still in half guard, Nedeltsev seems content to control.
Nedeltsev stops Honda from getting back to his feet.
Nedeltsev passes to side control.
Honda is trying to get back to his feet.
Nedeltsev takes a little break here. Honda wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Honda wants to get back to his feet but Nedeltsev drags him back down.

Nedeltsev swings around for an armbar but Honda sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nedeltsev's guard.
Honda would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Nedeltsev seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Nedeltsev is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Honda defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Honda has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Honda wants to stand and escape but instead Nedeltsev has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Honda tries to bum rush Nedeltsev with a series of wild strikes but Nedeltsev uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nedeltsev is defended easily by Honda.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tamotsu Honda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Nedeltsev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Honda walks away with a smile on his face. Nedeltsev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tamotsu Honda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ned Nedeltsev.
Honda throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nedeltsev.
Honda throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Nedeltsev wants to counter the offense by Honda and move into the clinch position.

Honda throws a nice looking combination but Nedeltsev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Nedeltsev is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Honda wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tamotsu Honda will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Ned Nedeltsev's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Nedeltsev closes the distance and clinches up with Honda, looking for a takedown. Nedeltsev pushes Honda against the cage but Honda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nedeltsev moves into the clinch.
Honda is trying to force a seperation but Nedeltsev has the dominant position.
Nedeltsev stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Nedeltsev is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Honda gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Nedeltsev has Honda pressed against the cage, preventing Honda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Nedeltsev keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Honda's efforts to push away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nedeltsev tries to pull guard but Honda won't allow it.

Nedeltsev turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nedeltsev manages to end up in side control.

Nedeltsev goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Honda has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nedeltsev but great work by Honda.
Nedeltsev can't do much from the bottom here.
Honda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nedeltsev on the ground.

Nedeltsev shoots for a takedown but Honda saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Honda connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Honda throws the kick towards the body but Nedeltsev avoids it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Honda wants to get back to his feet but Nedeltsev is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Nedeltsev passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Honda works over Nedeltsev's head and body with a nice combination.

Honda wants to stand back up but Nedeltsev manages to pass into side control.

Honda bucks up and tries to throw Nedeltsev off but instead Nedeltsev has got his back!
Nedeltsev is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Honda is trying to get back to his feet but Nedeltsev has full control of the position and if anything, Honda has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Nedeltsev has good solid back control here.

Nedeltsev has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Honda is defending well but eventually Nedeltsev manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Honda has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
