PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ranky Scorpion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zell Griever (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scorpion comes to the cage accompanied by ˇMAYDAY! - Last One Standing. On his way into the cage it seems that Ranky Scorpion has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ranky Scorpion seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ranky Scorpion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zell Griever!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scorpion throws a lazy right hand but Griever sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Griever works Scorpion's body with a nice hook.
Griever looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Griever throws a hook but Scorpion avoids it easily.
A quick step to the side and Scorpion tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Scorpion shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Griever works Scorpion's body with a nice hook.
Griever misses with a two punch combination.
Scorpion swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Griever throws a jab but it's blocked by Scorpion.
Scorpion scores with a jab to the head.


It looks like Zell Griever has been cut.
Griever just misses with a punch to the body.
A punch combination from Griever misses.
Scorpion throws a body shot but no joy.
Griever moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scorpion ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Scorpion throws the left hand but Griever avoids the punch easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scorpion throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Griever on the side of the head.
Griever sizes up Scorpion with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Scorpion misses with a hook. Griever ducked under it nicely.
Griever throws a head kick that Scorpion semi-blocks.
Scorpion scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Griever misses with a wild body shot.
Scorpion throws out a loose jab but Griever uses good head movement to avoid it.
Griever on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Scorpion throws a jab but it's blocked by Griever.
Scorpion uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Griever.
Scorpion takes one on the button.
Griever throws a right hand that misses
letting Scorpion counter with a right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Griever knocks Scorpion to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?


Scorpion is rocked!


It looks like Ranky Scorpion has been cut.
Griever is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Oh Scorpion is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scorpion is looking to reverse the position.
Scorpion seems to have got his legs back now.
Griever is looking to take a break and control but Scorpion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Scorpion wants to control but Griever postures up.
Griever in the domination position with Scorpion hanging on.
Griever working the ground and pound but Scorpion is defending the strikes.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Griever throws a strike aimed at the side of Scorpion's head but Scorpion avoids it well.
Scorpion can't do much from the bottom here.
Griever postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scorpion avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Griever.
Griever throws an elbow but Scorpion slips to the side and avoids it well.
Griever is looking to take a break and control but Scorpion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Scorpion is trying to control Griever's posture but Griever avoids it.
Griever wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scorpion keeps working.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Griever fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Scorpion.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Griever misses with a head kick.
Scorpion is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Scorpion looks to score with a jab to the body but Griever is just out of range.
Nice shot by Scorpion.
Scorpion lands a right hook to the body.
Scorpion lands with a cross.
Scorpion misses with a straight left.
Scorpion throws a shot from downtown. Griever moves away and avoids it.
Scorpion swings away with a body shot that misses
and Griever counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Scorpion to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Griever!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Zell Griever!
A relieved looking Zell Griever thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
