PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Uiva Nakki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isailo Ljotic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Uiva Nakki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Isailo Ljotic!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Peter Branson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ljotic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nakki tries to avoid it but Ljotic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nakki to the ground. Nakki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ljotic tries to clinch but Nakki moves out of range.
Nakki swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ljotic tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Nakki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ljotic takes one to the side of the head.
Nakki lands a really nice looking cross but Ljotic seems unphased.
Ljotic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nakki swivels and escapes.

Ljotic's coach down at Rabid Dog was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ljotic's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Nakki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Ljotic closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nakki quickly recovers to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Nakki counters with a straight right hand.

Nakki lands a lovely overhand right.

Uiva Nakki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isailo Ljotic.
Nakki punishes Ljotic's body with a nice straight punch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ljotic.
You can see the frustration on Nakki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ljotic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nakki keeps working.
Ljotic might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nakki haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sloppy strikes there by Ljotic.
Ljotic lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Nakki down.
Nakki wants to control but Ljotic postures up.
Ljotic scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nakki to see if he's OK.
Nakki is not content to let Ljotic control the position.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nakki avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ljotic.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Isailo Ljotic will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ljotic takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nakki circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nakki cracks Ljotic with an open hand slap.
Uiva Nakki is winning the standup battle so far.
Ljotic goes for a double leg but Nakki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nakki continues to drive forward.
Isailo Ljotic is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ljotic has closed the distance and engaged Nakki in a clinch.
Nakki looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Ljotic has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nakki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ljotic wants to take the fight to the mat but Nakki manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Uiva Nakki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isailo Ljotic.
The referee calls for Nakki to work.
Nakki lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ljotic backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakki stops a takedown attempt from Ljotic.

Nakki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nakki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ljotic's hands.

Ljotic is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nakki's half guard.

The referee warns Nakki that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ljotic takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A relieved looking Isailo Ljotic thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
