Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ronald McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Bastien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastien has chosen Started From The Bottom as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Bastien!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy fails with the takedown
and Bastien counters with a three punch combo that has McCoy backing up. McCoy nods at Bastien to acknowledge the strikes.
McCoy goes for a double leg but Bastien avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bastien continues to drive forward.
McCoy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

McCoy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McCoy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McCoy slows the pace down in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing good reports from McCoy's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bastien is trying to keep McCoy in close.
McCoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bastien on the ground.
McCoy stays in close to Bastien's body and controls the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
McCoy shoots and misses

McCoy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bastien is fending him off so far but McCoy persists. Nope, Bastien circles away and we're back to standing.

McCoy has Bastien pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bastien manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bastien manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. McCoy keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Bastien closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks McCoy out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
