The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monteiro misses with an uppercut
and Phelps counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Phelps on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

It looks like Jonas Phelps has been cut.
Good shot there by Monteiro.
Monteiro takes a swing at Phelps's ribcage but misses.
Monteiro scores with a jab to the head.
Phelps staying out of range there.
Nice body punch from Monteiro.
Monteiro throws a lazy right hand but Phelps sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monteiro gets in close and tags Phelps with a short punch that almost sends Phelps to the mat! Oh Phelps is in big trouble! He turns his back on Monteiro, trying to create some distance but Monteiro rushes him, striking wildly and Phelps goes down! The referee tackles Monteiro into the cage to end the fight! Monteiro is one violent man!
