Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tomasz Rzasa!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Saifutdinov.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rzasa. Saifutdinov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rzasa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Saifutdinov.

Rzasa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rzasa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Saifutdinov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Saifutdinov wants to stand up but Rzasa is controlling the position.

Still in half guard, Saifutdinov seems content to control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rzasa is not content to let Saifutdinov control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Saifutdinov gets tackled into the ropes by Rzasa. Rzasa maintains the clinch.

Saifutdinov lands a left and a right that send Rzasa crashing to the mat, dazed. Saifutdinov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Tomasz Rzasa has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Saifutdinov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Saifutdinov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rzasa as he avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rzasa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emil Saifutdinov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Saifutdinov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Saifutdinov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Rzasa regains half guard there - taking advantage of Saifutdinov's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

That was a close round but I would say that Emil Saifutdinov will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Rzasa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Saifutdinov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rzasa has managed to clinch.

Rzasa has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Saifutdinov regains guard immediately.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rzasa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Saifutdinov drops back looking for a leg! Rzasa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rzasa manages to kick Saifutdinov off! Saifutdinov jumps back into Rzasa's guard.
Rzasa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Saifutdinov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Rzasa has his foot on Saifutdinov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Saifutdinov works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rzasa can do anything to dispel that myth.

Saifutdinov is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rzasa is surviving well by controlling Saifutdinov's body position as best he can.

BOOM! Saifutdinov connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
