PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stacker Pentacost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreus Puno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Puno comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Warlord kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stacker Pentacost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andreus Puno!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puno throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Puno throws a lazy right hand but Pentacost sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stacker Pentacost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pentacost dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Puno. That did some damage!
Puno clobbers Pentacost with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Pentacost throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Puno stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Puno scores with a jab. Pentacost acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Puno thuds a left hand into Pentacost's body.
Pentacost steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Puno.
Pentacost tries to counter by clinching up but Puno breaks away and moves out of range.
Puno misses with a jab, cross combination.
Puno misses with a low kick.
Pentacost definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Puno swings for the body but Pentacost moves out of range.
Pentacost connects with a crisp jab.
Puno throws the kick towards the body but Pentacost avoids it.
Pentacost is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pentacost looks to land a body kick but Puno moved away.
Puno throws out a loose jab but Pentacost uses good head movement to avoid it.
Puno tries to land a front kick but Pentacost steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

It looks like Andreus Puno has been cut.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The referee is keeping an eye on Pentacost - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Pentacost putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Puno in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
A head punch on the inside from Pentacost fails to land.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Pentacost as Puno tries to tie him up.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pentacost.
Puno is trying to maintain a safe position but Pentacost gets an underhook and turns Puno into the cage.

Pentacost has Puno pressed against the cage, preventing Puno from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Puno is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Pentacost is keeping busy.

Pentacost cracks Puno with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Puno throws a leg kick but Pentacost sees it coming and moves out of range.

Pentacost tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Puno manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Puno throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pentacost looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stacker Pentacost will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Andreus Puno's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
