Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Kazama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre LePew!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LePew gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kazama is looking to escape.
LePew missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kazama wants to control but LePew is keeping busy.
Kazama keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Kazama knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for LePew on the ground.
LePew looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kazama tries to roll over but LePew keeps him under control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kazama trying to hold on to LePew's head to control him but LePew postures up.
LePew not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kazama blocks a leg kick.

Kazama has managed to clinch.
Kazama misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kazama misses with some punches.
Kazama stalling in the clinch.
Kazama makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Kazama jumps into guard, dragging LePew to the mat.
LePew passes Kazama's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
LePew keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

LePew works his foot free and advances to mount.
Kazama looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

LePew tightening his grip on Kazama, looking for the choke.

LePew has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Kazama rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Kazama desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kazama wants to sweep but LePew has passed to side control!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
LePew has knee on belly momentarily but Kazama bucks him off and regains half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

LePew is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kazama manages to get to full guard.
Kazama managing to control the position.
Kazama has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but LePew has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pierre LePew dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


LePew swats away the attempt to clinch by Kazama.
Kazama is looking to clinch.

Kazama moves into the clinch successfully.
A body shot lands from Kazama.
Kazama throws an elbow but it misses.
Kazama has LePew pushed against the cage.

Kazama manages to break the clinch.

LePew closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kazama is not content to let LePew control the position.

LePew looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kazama gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

LePew working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

LePew is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kazama has escaped the position, nice work there.
I wouldn't like to be where Kazama is right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

LePew thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
LePew wants to control but Kazama is keeping him busy.
LePew looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kazama is avoiding damage well.
Kazama tries to buck LePew off but LePew is having none of it.
LePew is trying to ground and pound but Kazama uses the momentary lack of control by LePew to regain half guard.

LePew seems to be working for a kimura but Kazama defends the submission attempt.

LePew wants to pass the guard but Kazama is defending well.
Kazama is trying to control but can't.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
LePew looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kazama is fending him off so far but LePew persists. Nope, Kazama circles away and we're back to standing.
Kazama is looking to clinch but LePew is avoiding it.

LePew shoots in and bounces Kazama off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
LePew is breathing heavily.
LePew trying to control the position from guard on top but Kazama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

LePew won't allow Kazama to get back to his feet.
LePew won't allow Kazama to sweep him here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pierre LePew showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Nice sprawl there from Kazama as LePew shoots in.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kazama accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
LePew looking for a sweep. Not yet LePew, not yet.
LePew controls Kazama momentarily but Kazama frees himself.
LePew wants to sweep here but Kazama controlling him for the moment.

LePew looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
LePew takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kazama is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

LePew lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kazama!
LePew wants to control but Kazama has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

LePew blocks a low kick nicely.

and Kazama counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kazama.
Kazama lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of LePew backwards.
LePew tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Akira Kazama showed his dominance in that final round.
I think LePew has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
