Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Luiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto tries to clinch up.
Yamamoto darts in looking for a takedown but Luiz gets double underhooks and turns Yamamoto into the cage.
Luiz takes a swing at Yamamoto's ribcage but misses.
Yamamoto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Luiz avoids it really well and circles away.
Yamamoto moves away from the strike by Luiz.
Yamamoto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Luiz misses with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yamamoto moves into the clinch successfully.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Yamamoto can't break the clinch.
Luiz doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Yamamoto is trying to stall.

Yamamoto prevents a body shot from Luiz.

Yamamoto successfully pulls guard.
Luiz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luiz wants to stand and escape but instead Yamamoto has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Yamamoto gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Yamamoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Luiz's waist but Luiz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yamamoto off to one side.
Luiz throws out a counter right but Yamamoto avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Satoshi Yamamoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yamamoto shoots in for a double leg but Luiz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Luiz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yamamoto moves away.

and Luiz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Yamamoto is breathing heavily.

Luiz gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Luiz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Yamamoto backwards.

Yamamoto is rocked!
Luiz lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Oh Yamamoto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Luiz throws a big uppercut that drops Yamamoto! More strikes from Luiz and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Yamamoto lies dazed against the cage as Luiz celebrates with his cornermen!
