Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Medium Hardon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nero Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Medium Hardon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nero Padilla!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Padilla scores with a takedown into Hardon's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Padilla is trying to control. Hardon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Padilla avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Padilla shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Padilla was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hardon avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Padilla.
The strikes coming from Padilla are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hardon is looking to regain half guard here but Padilla keeps moving and retains side control.

Padilla decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Hardon fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Padilla checks it well.

Padilla moves into the clinch.
Padilla avoiding damage as Hardon throws knees to the body.

Padilla pulls Hardon into guard.
Hardon trying to control but Padilla is working from the bottom.
Hardon throws a strike but Padilla rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Padilla wanted to stand there but Hardon had control of the position.
Hardon wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Padilla is now in half guard.
Padilla passes into side control, despite Hardon's attempt to control the position.
Hardon is looking for a sweep.

Padilla misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Padilla wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hardon keeps working.
Padilla might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hardon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Hardon is looking for a sweep.

Padilla decides to stand back up. Padilla steps back and let's Hardon get back to his feet.
Hardon takes a swing at Padilla's ribcage but misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Padilla bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Padilla chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hardon can pounce on him.
Padilla ducks under a wild hook from Hardon.

Padilla forces Hardon back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nero Padilla dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hardon throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Padilla throws a head kick that misses.
It looked like Hardon wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Padilla avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Medium Hardon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Padilla clinches with his opponent.

Hardon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Padilla uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hardon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Padilla wants to stand up but Hardon has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Hardon is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Padilla wants to control the pace but Hardon is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardon manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Hardon is doing well to control the position and prevent Padilla from advancing to side control.

Padilla postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hardon to stand up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Padilla pushes Hardon up against the cage in a clinch.

Padilla has hold of one of Hardon's legs. Hardon is fighting the takedown attempt but Padilla gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Hardon has his foot on Padilla's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Padilla works his way back into a safe position though.

Hardon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Padilla is aware though and is defending well.

Padilla postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hardon keeping moving, preventing Padilla from controlling successfully.
Padilla has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hardon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Padilla doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Padilla manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Padilla wants to get up but he can't break Hardon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Padilla moves into range and clinches up with Hardon.

Hardon turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Hardon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Padilla's head.

Padilla kicks off Hardon and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nero Padilla showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hardon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Padilla looks to land a combination but Hardon avoids it well.

Padilla closes the distance and pushes Hardon back into the cage.
Hardon can't find room to land a body shot as Padilla controls the action.
Padilla is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Hardon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hardon has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Padilla clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hardon lands a shot to the body.
Padilla is really stuck here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hardon is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Padilla defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Padilla is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hardon gets his way!
Padilla needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation.

Medium Hardon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hardon has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Padilla! Can he survive? No! He's out! Hardon gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Medium Hardon!
