Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Manning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stefan Manning!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerome Turner!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turner is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Manning's half guard.
Manning tries to roll over but Turner keeps him under control.
Manning pushes Turner off looking to stand but Turner dives back in and keeps control.

Turner is trying to work for a kimura but Manning is defending well.
Turner keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner wants to control but Manning is keeping him busy.
Turner prevents Manning from standing back up.
Manning wants to get back to full guard but Turner has passed into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Turner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Turner tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
An elbow from Turner crashes against the mat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Turner looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Manning can't do much from the bottom here.
Turner throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Manning works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Turner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Turner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Turner scores with a head kick. Manning tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Stefan Manning has been cut.

Turner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.


Manning is rocked!

It looks like Turner might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Turner is continuing to stall.
Manning seems to have got his legs back now.

Turner is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Turner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Manning keeps working.

Manning kicks off Turner and gets to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Turner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Manning is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Turner off and has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Turner tries to sprawl but Manning drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Turner is not content to let Manning control the position.

Turner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Turner.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Manning will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Poor strikes thrown by Turner there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Turner goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Manning turns into him and now he's in Turner's guard.

Turner wants to get back to his feet but Manning is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Manning thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Turner is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerome Turner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Turner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Manning is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Turner presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Turner has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Manning clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Turner just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Turner is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Turner is looking to control Manning but Manning is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Manning looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Manning is trying to stand back up.

Manning defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Turner has his opponent's back but Manning is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Turner.

Turner looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Manning!
Turner is looking to take a break and control but Manning is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Turner swings around for an armbar but Manning sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Turner's guard.
Turner has momentary wrist control but Manning slips an elbow through the middle.
Jerome Turner has got the better of the ground game so far.
Turner looking for a sweep. Not yet Turner, not yet.

Manning gets to his feet. Turner looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Turner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Turner dives in and scores a takedown into Manning's guard.

Manning manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stefan Manning showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Turner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
