Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erkki Elastinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elastinen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cascada - Dangerous. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 33 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Erkki Elastinen!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel throws a sloppy head kick and Elastinen moves out of range easily.
Steel throws a head kick that misses.
Steel looks to land a left hand but Elastinen moved out of range nicely.
Steel tries a head kick but it misses.
Elastinen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steel swivels and escapes.
Elastinen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Elastinen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Freddy Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erkki Elastinen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Elastinen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Steel counters with a crisp one two that drops Elastinen! Steel thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Elastinen to his feet! Elastinen is in big trouble!


Elastinen is rocked!
Elastinen moves out of range as Steel strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Steel cracks Elastinen with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Elastinen looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Steel finish him?
Elastinen is still on wobbly legs! Can Steel finish him?


It looks like Erkki Elastinen has been cut.
Freddy Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Steel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Elastinen.
Steel throwing a counter right hand but Elastinen manages to avoid it.
Steel looks to throw the jab but Elastinen is out of range.
Elastinen seems to have recovered his senses.
Elastinen fails to land the takedown.
Steel went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Elastinen blocks a jab.
Freddy Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Elastinen changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Steel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steel wants it to stay on the feet.

and Elastinen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steel's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steel wants to stand and escape but Elastinen is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Elastinen trying to control but Steel is working from the bottom.

Steel pushes Elastinen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Elastinen tries for a takedown but Steel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Elastinen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Steel.
And Elastinen tries to counter it with a takedown but Steel pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Some wild striking there from Steel.

Steel feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Elastinen sprawling to the canvas! Elastinen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Steel finish him?!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Steel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Elastinen.
Elastinen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steel is fending him off so far but Elastinen persists. Nope, Steel circles away and we're back to standing.
Steel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Steel misses with a head kick.
Steel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Elastinen.
Steel tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
It seemed like Elastinen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Steel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And Elastinen tries to counter it with a takedown but Steel pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Steel pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Elastinen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steel tries to avoid it but Elastinen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steel to the ground. Steel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A quick step to the side and Steel tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Steel misses with a hook

and Elastinen counters with a shoot takedown. Steel fights it but they end up in guard.
Elastinen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Elastinen wants to control from the top but Steel keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Elastinen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Erkki Elastinen's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Elastinen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away.
Steel was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Elastinen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steel pinned against the cage. Steel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Steel stuffs the takedown.
Steel appears to be looking for a big counter.
Freddy Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erkki Elastinen.

Elastinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steel keeps working.

Steel kicks off Elastinen and gets to his feet.
Elastinen seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Steel shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Elastinen is backing up but Steel catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Elastinen covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Steel Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddy Steel!
A very excited looking Freddy Steel made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
