Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Collis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Collis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Collis!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watson has Collis up against the cage in a clinch.
Watson looking to throw knees to the head but Collis is blocking nicely.
Collis wants to get back to striking at distance but Watson won't allow it.
Watson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Watson.
Watson jumps guard but Collis stands there with Watson around his waist. Watson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Watson misses with some punches.
Collis lands with a short shot to the head.
Watson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Collis blocks it with crossed arms.
Collis is trying to break free.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Collis to keep the fight standing.
Watson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Watson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Collis smiles and moves away.

It looks like Ivan Watson has been cut.
Watson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Watson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Watson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Collis passes Watson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Collis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Watson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Collis.

Collis stands up and beckons Watson to join him on the feet.

Collis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Watson but Watson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Watson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Collis manages to circle out of the way.

Watson throws a counter high kick but Collis was just alert enough to avoid it.

Collis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Watson wants to stand but Collis is controlling the position.
Collis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Collis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Collis throwing strikes but missing.
Collis sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Watson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Collis is working for a kimura but Watson is defending it quite comfortably.

Collis decides to stand and escape the position.

Collis closes the distance and pushes Watson back into the cage.

Let's hope that Collis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Collis wants to break the clinch but can't.
Watson throws a punch but it's blocked by Collis.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Collis takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
