Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Johnson tries to sprawl but Silva drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Johnson defends the submission attempt.
Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Johnson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Johnson is trying to stand back up but Silva is controlling him

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.

Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Johnson sees it coming and defends easily.
Silva could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Silva is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
Johnson kicks Silva off and gets back to his feet.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Silva is breathing heavily.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Silva takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Johnson connects with a right that clearly hurt Silva. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Johnson proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Silva collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Johnson!
