Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Hale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurmas Uusisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hale comes to the cage accompanied by Dead Sara - Weatherman. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Brandon Hale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 42 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jurmas Uusisto!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uusisto misses with a body punch
and Hale counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Uusisto fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hale throws an overhand right that lands on Uusisto's shoulder, as Uusisto tries to avoid the shot.
Hale throws a body kick that misses.
Hale paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hale is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Uusisto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hale was well out of range. Poor timing from Uusisto.
Hale scores with a crisp jab that stopped Uusisto in his tracks.
Uusisto keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hale misses with a leg kick.
Hale bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Uusisto throws a body shot but no joy.
Hale attempts a counter takedown but Uusisto avoids it well and moves away.
Uusisto takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hale has been working on his balance at Hell's Balls NY Hellcademy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Uusisto.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hale throws a leg kick but Uusisto sees it coming and moves out of range.
Uusisto looks to land a right hand but Hale moved out of range.

Hale throws a sloppy head kick and Uusisto moves out of range easily.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Uusisto, right into the meat.
Hale stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Uusisto.
Uusisto connects with a right hand. Hale shakes it off.
Uusisto scores with a jab to the jaw.
Uusisto thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hale takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hale uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Uusisto.
Hale misses the shot to the body.
Uusisto takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Uusisto has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Uusisto there as he acknowledges the shot.


It looks like Jurmas Uusisto has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hale connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Hale leaves Uusisto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Uusisto loads up on a big right hand but Hale slips the punch.
Uusisto shoots in for a takedown but Hale shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Brandon Hale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jurmas Uusisto.
Uusisto lands with an uppercut that bounces Hale off the cage and back into range.
Hale scores with the left hand. Uusisto knows he should have avoided that one.
Uusisto misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Uusisto uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hale has time to react.
Uusisto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Hale closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Uusisto quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hale not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hale looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Uusisto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uusisto is still trying to improve position.

Hale seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Uusisto manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hale manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Uusisto seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Hale working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Uusisto looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hale has picked Uusisto up and slammed him! Uusisto can't keep hold of the triangle and Hale manages to pass to side control!

Uusisto throws a strike but Hale rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Uusisto is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Uusisto has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hale has passed into side control.
Hale has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hale prevents Uusisto from getting the reversal.
Uusisto regains half guard.

Uusisto is looking for a sweep. Hale is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hale is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hale landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Uusisto is looking to control Hale's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Uusisto avoid being mounted?
Well, if Hale is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hale wants to take a breather but Uusisto is having none of it.

Uusisto is looking to improve his position.
Hale thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Uusisto's head.

Uusisto is defending against the submission attempts here by Hale.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brandon Hale.
I think Hale has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Brandon Hale was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
