PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aslan Taisumov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan comes to the ring accompanied by I'd Love to Knock the Hell out of You by Hank Williams, Jr. Taisumov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. My World- Kid Cudi kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 25 - 2, fighting out of London, Daniel Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aslan Taisumov!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Taisumov. No joy for Ryan on that attempt.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Despite the aggression on Taisumov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
No joy there for Taisumov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Taisumov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ryan finds it's way round the side to connect with Taisumov's head.
Taisumov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Taisumov unleashes a big counter combination but Ryan bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Ryan has his foot on Taisumov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taisumov works his way back into a safe position though.

Ryan goes for a double leg but Taisumov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Taisumov continues to drive forward.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ryan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Taisumov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ryan.

and Taisumov counters with a series of strikes. Ryan will be more careful next time no doubt.

Ryan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Taisumov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ryan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ryan throws a big elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Ryan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Taisumov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ryan can pounce on him.

Aslan Taisumov seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Taisumov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ryan on the side of the head.
Ryan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ryan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ryan drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Ryan as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Taisumov screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Ryan! Nice submission victory there!

A less than humble Daniel Ryan misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
