PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Lowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patton comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - TNT. Lowe comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ennio Morricone - Ecstasy of Gold kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jack Patton could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nicky Lowe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Patton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nicky Lowe!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Summer Carpenter and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lowe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Patton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A chopping leg kick lands by Patton.

Lowe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lowe in side control, throwing shots but Patton defends.
Patton is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Patton's coaches at Fokai Academy have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Lowe tries to advance to mount but Patton denies him.
Patton tries to bench press Lowe off him but Lowe keeps the position.
Patton is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lowe asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Patton wants to control but Lowe postures up.
Lowe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patton keeps working.
Lowe wants to take a breather but Patton manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lowe.

Lowe controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Lowe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Lowe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Lowe won't allow Patton to sweep him here.
Lowe wants to control from the top but Patton keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A clash of legs there as Patton blocks the low kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Lowe.
Patton fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lowe.
Patton lands a head shot.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lowe.
The referee asks Lowe politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lowe prefers to stall for the moment though.
Patton is looking to get back to his feet here but Lowe is keeping cool and he's managed to take Patton's back.
You can see the frustration on Patton's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lowe is landing with strikes from the back.
Lowe misses with an elbow to the head.
Patton is keeping busy.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Patton grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Patton wants to escape the position.
Lowe is not going to allow Patton to sit and survive in this position.
Patton staying busy and making it hard for Lowe to control.
Lowe is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Will Lowe go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Patton rolls, trying to escape but Lowe keeps control of the position.

Patton is trying to get back to his feet but Lowe has full control of the position and if anything, Patton has just worked his way into a worse spot.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Patton scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Patton connects with a jab.
Lowe throws a nice outside leg kick.
Patton misses with a head kick.
Lowe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Patton tries to clinch but Lowe is having none of it.
Lowe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jack Patton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lowe looks to score with a jab to the body but Patton is just out of range.
Lowe shoots in and drives through. Patton sprawls well.

and Patton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lowe thinking.

Patton ducks under a wild hook from Lowe.
Patton slips a jab and a cross from Lowe.
Lowe walks forward, straight into a front kick from Patton.

Patton thuds a left hand into Lowe's body.
Lowe falls off balance throwing a combination
and Patton counters with a left and a right that stings Lowe.
Lowe fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Patton checks it well.
Patton plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Patton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lowe at a distance.
Lowe is still on wobbly legs! Can Patton finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

letting Patton counter with a right hand.
Lowe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Patton pinned against the cage. Patton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Patton lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Lowe out cold! Lowe is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jack Patton!
During a confident post fight interview, Jack Patton thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated Nicky Lowe had this to say: 'This here victim of multi account gate keeping is hanging up his boots, i mean heck! Who wouldnt rather sip margaritas in the bahamas, than be forced to fight cheaters if ya know what i mean? Thanks and Goodnight!'.
