PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Melendez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Melendez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Melendez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lee's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Melendez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Melendez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Melendez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Melendez's legs - danger averted.
Lee wants to stand but Melendez is controlling his posture from full guard.

Melendez swings around for an armbar but Lee sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Melendez's guard.
Lee definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Lee is stalling here. Melendez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lee seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Melendez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Melendez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lee gets the underhooks and prevents it.

and Lee counters with a nice uppercut.
Anthony Melendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
