PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hois Kreisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes into the arena with Cyprus Hill - Hits From the Bong blaring out of the sound system. Kreisi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ella ja Aleksi - Kakkaa lumella. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 21 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hois Kreisi!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreisi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hunter misses with a body shot.
Hunter checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Jay Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kreisi needs to keep his hands up - Hunter had a free shot at his head there.
Hunter connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Kreisi slips a straight right by Hunter.
Nice uppercut there from Kreisi.
Kreisi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A jab from Kreisi finds it's way through Hunter's defenses.
Hunter turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hunter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hunter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kreisi circles away.
Hunter misses with a body shot

so Kreisi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hunter trying to control but Kreisi postures up.
Hunter is positioning himself well to prevent Kreisi advancing to mount.

Hunter won't allow Kreisi to pass to mount.

Kreisi wants to pass the guard but Hunter is defending well.
Hunter is looking to control Kreisi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hunter avoid being mounted?

Kreisi tries to pass to full mount but Hunter defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunter slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Hunter pulls Kreisi in close to prevent any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hunter looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Kreisi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Hunter working for a triangle but Kreisi defends it easily.
Hunter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kreisi.
Hunter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kreisi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hunter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kreisi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hunter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kreisi slips nicely into half guard.

Kreisi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
You can see the frustration on Hunter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kreisi tries to move to full mount but Hunter actually manages to regain half guard.

Kreisi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kreisi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kreisi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunter keeps working.

Kreisi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hunter has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kreisi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kreisi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hunter is looking for a sweep. Kreisi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hunter is not content to let Kreisi control the position.

Kreisi is trying to work for a kimura but Hunter is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hois Kreisi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hunter with a poor takedown
and Kreisi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kreisi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hunter.
Kreisi misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Hunter counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A good leg kick by Kreisi.
Kreisi throws a body punch but Hunter moves out of range.
Kreisi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hunter misses with a straight right.
Kreisi throws out a counter right but Hunter avoids it with no problem.
Kreisi lands a really nice looking cross but Hunter seems unphased.
Hunter misses with a left hand
and Kreisi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hunter doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hunter misses with a right hand
and Kreisi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kreisi misses the shot to the body.
Hunter tried to score with a low kick but Kreisi checks it.
Hunter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kreisi feints the counter takedown.
Hois Kreisi seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hunter lands with a straight right. Kreisi didn't see that one coming.
Kreisi lands a right hook to the body.

Hunter takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kreisi ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hunter scores with a nice right hand.
Kreisi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hunter backs up against the cage.
Kreisi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hunter was well out of range. Poor timing from Kreisi.
Hunter takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hunter misses the shot to the body.
Kreisi lands with an overhand left.
Kreisi scores with a shot to the body.
Nice uppercut there from Hunter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A little jabbing left from Kreisi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kreisi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hunter rather than just go for the knockout.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kreisi lands with a nice body punch.
Kreisi ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hunter throws a lazy head kick
and Kreisi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Kreisi cracks the inside of Hunter's front leg.

Kreisi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hunter tries to get to full guard but Kreisi has control of the leg.
Kreisi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hunter is working to get back to half guard.
Kreisi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hunter is looking to escape.
The referee warns Hunter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kreisi lands with some strikes.
Kreisi throws some wild stikes that Hunter manages to avoid easily.

Hunter tries to hold on but Kreisi pushes him away.
Hunter is squirming around, avoiding Kreisi's attempts to control the action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kreisi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kreisi lands a nice shot to the head.
Kreisi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Kreisi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hunter is desperately trying to improve his position but Kreisi has a good base and remains in mount.

Kreisi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hunter has worked his arm free - good work by Hunter!
Kreisi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Hunter manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Hois Kreisi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hunter is rocked!
Kreisi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hunter at a distance.
Oh Hunter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hunter scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kreisi throws a monster overhand right that drops Hunter! Kreisi follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hois Kreisi!
A very excited looking Hois Kreisi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
