Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benny Garner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Frank White enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benny Garner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank White!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on White's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Garner looking for a takedown.
Garner is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Garner looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benny Garner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garner tries to throw a body punch but White avoids it by throwing Garner back against the cage.
Garner has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. White avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
White lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Garner backwards.
White makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
White works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

White breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

White rushes Garner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Garner has White pressed against the cage, preventing White from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Garner lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

White manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Garner keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
White lands a nice uppercut.

White wants to get back to his feet but Garner is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

White has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Garner off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

White gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Garner tried to land a shot to the body but connects with White's elbow.
White pushes off an throws an elbow but Garner leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
White blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Garner is trying to pull guard but White has him pressed against the cage.
Garner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. White is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Garner is breathing heavily.

White breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

White clinches up with Garner and pushes him back against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from White.

White is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Garner can't fight it off and eventually White manages to take the fight to the floor. Garner looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

It looks like White might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

White slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
White controls from within his opponent's guard.
White is continuing to stall.
White throws a big right hand that misses.
White slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Garner avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Garner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
White trying to stand up but can't free himself from Garner's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Garner has his hands on White's head, controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Garner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Garner is looking to regain half guard here but White keeps moving and retains side control.

White is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

White tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no White has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank White dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


White is looking to score with low kicks.
Garner is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from White.
Garner circles away from the clinch attempt.
White fails to land with a series of punches.
As White tries to get set, Garner tries to push him back and clinch up but White manages to avoid the attempt.

White has hold of one of Garner's legs. Garner is fighting the takedown attempt but White gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Garner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
White wants to control from the top but Garner keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

White is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Let's hope that White has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
White not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Garner tries to close the distance and clinch but White swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by White!

Yet more stalling tactics from White.
White has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
White throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Garner is trying to control the position but White postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Garner takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
White throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Garner on the side of the head.


Garner is rocked!

White clinches up with Garner and pushes him back against the cage.
Oh Garner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

White escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
White fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Garner to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Garner looks to clinch but White throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Garner taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Frank White!
