Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Basten Sodergren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gasan Umalatov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umalatov has chosen Don Omar - Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umalatov shoots in but Sodergren avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sodergren is looking to counter punch.
Sodergren throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Umalatov with the counter takedown but Sodergren avoids it easily.
Umalatov slips a jab from Sodergren.
We've been told by Sodergren's head coaches at Hunter MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sodergren throws a looping overhand right but Umalatov ducks down to avoid it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Umalatov is defended easily by Sodergren.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Umalatov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sodergren's waist but Sodergren gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Umalatov off to one side.
Basten Sodergren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gasan Umalatov.
Sodergren fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Umalatov manages to avoid it.
Umalatov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Umalatov throws a series of punches but Sodergren moves out of range.

Sodergren throws a leg kick but Umalatov sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Sodergren avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sodergren just misses with a punch to the body.
Umalatov feints the counter takedown.
Nice uppercut there from Umalatov.

Sodergren closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Umalatov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Umalatov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sodergren tries to free his leg and advance position but Umalatov is retaining full guard.
Umalatov controls Sodergren momentarily but Sodergren frees himself.
Sodergren controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Sodergren wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Umalatov's closed guard. He's half up but Umalatov has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Umalatov pivots and extends the arm, Sodergren falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Umalatov! Well done that man!
