Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sandayu Momochi !
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huseyin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Huseyin misses with a two punch combination.
And Momochi tries to counter it with a takedown but Huseyin pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Huseyin closes the distance and pushes Momochi back into the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Momochi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Momochi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Huseyin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Momochi connects with a nice short shot to Huseyin's temple.

That was a close round but I would say that Caliph Hameed Shahzad Huseyin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Momochi closes the distance and clinches up with Huseyin, looking for a takedown. Momochi pushes Huseyin against the cage but Huseyin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Momochi tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
