And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; John Locke!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Locke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Locke has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Matos is trying to keep an underhook but Locke manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Matos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Locke pulls his head out easily.
Locke wants to free his trapped foot but Matos is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Matos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Locke is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Locke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Matos manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Locke has Matos in his guard.

Locke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Matos is one step ahead there.
Locke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Matos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Locke knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Matos has hold of Locke's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Locke tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Matos cranks the arm and Locke screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Locke, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
