Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simeon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Vinci counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vinci.
Vinci pushes Simeon back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Vinci lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Simeon goes for a takedown attempt but Vinci pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Simeon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vinci rushes Simeon and presses him up against the cage.
Vinci digs a right hand underneath Simeon's ribcage. Simeon let out a lung full of air as it connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simeon tries for a takedown but Vinci manages to get underhooks.

Vinci will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Simeon up against the cage.

We've been hearing reports that Simeon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Vinci dips a shoulder and cracks Simeon with a mighty uppercut! Simeon falls back against the cage and Vinci unloads with a barrage of strikes! Simeon is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Vinci screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

A relieved looking Sigurd Vinci thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
