Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Jane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 47 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Jane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, King Perry!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry misses with a hook. Jane ducked under it nicely.
Jane ducks under a wild hook from Perry.
Perry throws a wild body kick that Jane sees coming a mile off.

Jane clinches with his opponent.

Jane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Perry throws a jab but it's blocked by Jane.
Perry rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jane connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Jane has closed the distance and engaged Perry in a clinch.
Jane blocks an uppercut.

Jane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Perry throws an off balance right hand

and Jane holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Jane ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jane no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jane manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Perry manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jane with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Perry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Perry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Perry throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jane escapes and throws Perry's legs to the side, diving into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Perry can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jane stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Donk. Perry catches Jane right on the button with a cross.

Oooooh!!! Jane has knocked Perry down with a huge combo! Jane steps away and waves a wobbly Perry back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like King Perry has been cut.
Perry is looking to clinch.
Jane appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Perry just misses with a punch to the body.
Jane was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Jane shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Perry defends well and Jane ends up having to push Perry into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jane scores with a jab to the head.
Jane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Perry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jane somewhat.
Perry let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Jane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jane on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Perry throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Perry misses with a looping left.
Perry misses with a right hand
and Jane counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Perry thinking.
A solid body kick from Jane.
Perry finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jane shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Perry pinned against the cage. Perry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jane moves out of range as Perry strikes.
Perry throws a hook but Jane blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perry takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Jane swats away the attempt to clinch by Perry.
Jane has a takedown stuffed.
Perry wants to counter the offense by Jane and move into the clinch position.
Perry swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Perry misses with a leg kick.
Perry tries to clinch up but Jane circles away and keeps his distance.
Perry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jane pinned against the cage. Jane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Perry looks winded!
Perry misses with a looping left.
Perry fails in his attempt to clinch.
Perry misses with a looping right.
Perry swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Some bone on bone action there as Jane checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Perry leaves Jane with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perry throws a right hand that misses
and Perry takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jane moves into the clinch.
Perry swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Jane drags the fight down to the ground.
Jane controlling Perry's posture.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Perry missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jane is adopting a defensive guard.
Perry must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jane has his feet on Perry's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Jane dominated that round.
The cut man is working on King Perry's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Perry throws a jab but it's blocked by Jane.
Perry cracks a nice hook into Jane's ribs.
Jane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perry tries to avoid it but Jane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perry to the ground. Perry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Perry misses with a body shot
and Jane counters with a three punch combo that has Perry backing up. Perry nods at Jane to acknowledge the strikes.

Jane closes the distance and clinches.
Perry throws an elbow that misses.

Jane pulls guard successfully.
Perry is looking to advance position but Jane has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Jane tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Perry is wriggling around trying to escape.
Perry is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jane content just to control the position here.

Jane seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Perry for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perry is working to get back to half guard.
Jane controlling the position easily from mount.
Perry is looking to improve his position but Jane isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jane content just to control the position here.

That has opened up King Perry's cut even more.

Perry wants to hold on but Jane pushes him away.

Jane tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Jane prevents Perry from getting the reversal.

Perry has given up his back. Will we see Jane going for some submissions?
Perry is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Jane.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Perry is in bad spot here.
Jane really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Perry.

Jane is looking for the choke from the back position but Perry is controlling his hands well.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Perry is trying to break free.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Perry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jane.

Jane forces Perry back against the cage and clinches.
Perry goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Perry swings wildly with an uppercut but Jane uses good head movement to avoid it.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Jane has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Perry is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Perry just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jane's brow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jane is working for takedown but Perry is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Jane. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Jane here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Jane looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Perry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jane manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jane uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Perry.
Perry pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jane shoots in for a double leg but Perry sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Perry misses with a looping right.
Perry throws an overhand right that lands on Jane's shoulder, as Jane tries to avoid the shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Perry darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Patrick Jane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Perry throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jane counters with a stiff right hand.
Perry throws a leg kick but Jane sees it coming and moves out of range.
And Jane counters with a quick kick to the body but Perry blocks it.
Perry scores with the left hand. Jane knows he should have avoided that one.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jane. That's going to slow Perry down.
Jane shoots in looking for a takedown. Perry tries to sprawl out of it but Jane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A shot to the liver by Perry. Beautiful body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jane has a takedown stuffed.
Jane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perry moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
King Perry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Perry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jane manages to avoid it.
Jane bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
As Perry looks to move away, Jane throws a big counter combo but Perry just gets out of the way.

King Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perry throws a looping overhand right but Jane ducks down to avoid it.
Perry misses the jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Perry looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Jane. Perry shrugs it off though.
Perry takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Jane counters by clinching up.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Jane keeps control of Perry as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jane breaks the clinch.

Jane clinches.
Jane cracks Perry with a nice body shot.
Jane is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Perry gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Perry looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Jane stalling the fight.

Jane jumps into guard, dragging Perry to the mat.
Jane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Perry can do to turn this around?

Jane kicks Perry off and gets to his feet.
Jane slips a straight right by Perry.
Jane lands with a thumping leg kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jane clinches up against the cage.

Jane jumps guard.
Jane is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jane looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Perry is trying to stand back up but Jane is controlling him
Patrick Jane overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Perry is looking for a sweep. Jane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Perry is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jane jumps into side control!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Patrick Jane.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jane, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
