Kunz has chosen Dutchland Heil as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Walton Kunz!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kunz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tate.
Kunz misses with a lunging right hand

and Tate counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Tate passes into half guard.

Tate seems to be working for a kimura but Kunz defends the submission attempt.
Kunz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tate is working away from the top position though.
Kunz wants to get back to his feet.

Tate wants to work for an arm triangle but Kunz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kunz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tate pulls his head out easily.
Tate has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Tate is working for a kimura but Kunz is defending it quite comfortably.
Tate wants to pass to mount but Kunz is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tate is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tate is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kunz has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kunz is trying to stand back up but Tate is controlling him

Tate seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kunz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Miesha Tate!
