Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Corll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Corll's choice of entrance music: South Texas Death Ride. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nolan Sackett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Corll!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corll lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Corll shoots in but no luck this time.
Corll has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sackett.
Corll scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Sackett gets caught napping as Corll dives in and scores a takedown. Sackett manages to retain guard.

Sackett is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sackett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sackett will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Corll throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Sackett counters with a thumping low kick.
Corll on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sackett wants to clinch.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Corll takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Corll tries to land a front kick but Sackett steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Corll scores with a shot to the body.
Dean Corll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Corll misses with an uppercut.
It looked like Sackett was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Corll looks for the body kick but Sackett saw that one coming.
Corll scores with a head kick. Sackett tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Corll has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sackett finds it's way round the side to connect with Corll's head.

Sackett throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Good leg kick by Sackett there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Corll lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Nice takedown defense from Sackett. No joy for Corll on that attempt.
Corll ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Corll has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Corll throws a right and a left that Sackett avoids nicely.
Sackett throws a jab but it's blocked by Corll.
Corll tries to land a front kick but Sackett steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Corll takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Sackett fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Corll manages to avoid it.

Corll shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sackett as he avoids it easily.

Sackett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Corll circles away quickly and effectively.
Corll looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Sackett throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Sackett throws a low kick but it's checked well by Corll.
Sackett tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Corll manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A little jabbing left from Corll on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Corll tries to move into range but Sackett moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and Sackett makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Corll really felt that one!

Corll throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sackett's waist but Sackett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corll off to one side.
Nolan Sackett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Corll.

Corll throws a leg kick but Sackett sees it coming and checks it nicely.

and Sackett counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Corll thinking.

Sackett avoids the head kick by Corll.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sackett lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Corll has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Corll and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Corll shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Corll changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sackett looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round but Nolan Sackett did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Corll throws a poor cross that misses
and Sackett counters with a big right hand! Oh Corll is in trouble here! Sackett follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
