Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hyman Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor Mcgregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgregor tries a head kick but it misses.

Dyer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mcgregor drops back looking for a leg! Dyer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dyer manages to kick Mcgregor off! Mcgregor jumps back into Dyer's guard.

Mcgregor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dyer avoids it really well and circles away.

Dyer moves in looking to clinch but Mcgregor pushes him off.
Despite the aggression on Mcgregor's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Dyer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mcgregor circles away quickly and effectively.

Mcgregor has his foot on Dyer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dyer works his way back into a safe position though.

Mcgregor manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dyer keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mcgregor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dyer tries to avoid it but Mcgregor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dyer to the ground. Dyer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mcgregor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dyer uses from the top position.
