Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Kelso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's entrance music is Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers. A fine choice. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Kelso!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelso tries to clinch up
letting Silva counter with a right hand.
Kelso misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kelso misses with a double jab
and Silva counters with a one-two to the body.
Kelso is looking to clinch.

Silva closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kelso's guard.
Kelso is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Silva dives into side control.

Silva fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kelso seems a little lost for a moment, as Silva dominates the positioning.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kelso is trying to improve his position.
Silva remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kelso, who protects the arm well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kelso is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kelso keeps working.
Kelso trying his best to control but Silva has mounted him.
Silva controlling the pace for now.
Kelso stops Silva from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Silva looking to control and managing it successfully.
Silva looking to control but Kelso is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Silva could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kelso is looking to get to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelso is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kelso looks winded!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kelso slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kelso tries to counter with a clinch but Silva shakes him off and moves away.

Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kelso avoiding damage as Silva throws knees to the body.
Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kelso smiles and moves away.
Kelso jabs Silva to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelso wants to clinch.

Kelso gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kelso working a defensive guard but Silva passes into half guard.

Silva decides to return to a standing position.

Silva clinches up with Kelso and pushes him back against the cage.
Kelso tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Kelso drops back down to his feet.

Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Kelso, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kelso looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kelso is breathing heavily.

Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silva showed some decent athleticism there.
Kelso pushes Silva off but Silva dives into side control.
Anthony Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee asks Silva politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Silva prefers to stall for the moment though.

Silva stands up and beckons Kelso to his feet.

Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kelso scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Silva manages to mount him!

Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Silva lands a heavy elbow.
Kelso is squirming around, avoiding Silva's attempts to control the action.
Kelso keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Silva has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kelso's face.
Silva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kelso can do to turn this around?

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Kelso blocks a head kick by Silva.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt
and Silva counters with a right hand to the body.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kelso swivels and escapes.
Silva shoots in for a double leg but Kelso sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kelso feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Kelso changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Silva has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Kelso is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva lands with a short shot to the head.

Silva successfully pulls guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kelso looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kelso working a defensive guard but Silva manages to pass into side control anyway.

Kelso is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it.
Silva lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Silva decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kelso is defending well.
Silva wants to take the fight to the mat but Kelso manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Kelso is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Silva to keep the fight standing.

Silva gets control of Kelso's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Silva wriggles free and stands up.
Kelso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kelso off to one side.

Silva breaks from the clinch.

Kelso gets tackled into the cage by Silva. Silva maintains the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva goes for a takedown attempt but Kelso pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Silva works Kelso's body with a nice hook.

Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.

Kelso wriggles free and stands up.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kelso fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Kelso is now in Silva's guard.

Silva is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kelso presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kelso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kelso backs up against the cage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kelso looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Silva misses with an attempted mid kick.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Anthony Silva showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
