PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cletus Buckley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Collis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Collis has chosen Jerry as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Max Collis was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cletus Buckley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Collis!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A quick step to the side and Buckley tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Buckley shoots in looking for a takedown. Collis tries to sprawl out of it but Buckley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Collis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Collis throws a head kick but Buckley moves out of range.

Buckley tries to counter with a takedown but Collis is quick to defend against it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Collis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Collis wants it to stay on the feet.
Collis lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Buckley smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sloppy strikes from Collis. Those never looked like landing.
Buckley has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Collis finds it's way round the side to connect with Buckley's head.

Max Collis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Collis throws a right hand that Buckley ducks under and follows up with a left that Buckley also avoids with ease.

Max Collis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Collis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
