PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, She Knows. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christopher Newton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Phil Harris!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Harris is out of range and Newton settles back down.
Newton seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Newton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Harris's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Our winner, Phil Harris, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Christopher Newton was interviewed post fight and said 'i will retire when the contract expire'.
