The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kruger rushes Tripplet and presses him up against the cage.
Kruger lands a left hand.
Kruger is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tripplet to keep the fight standing.

Tripplet pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kruger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kruger misses with a hook.
Tripplet throws a looping overhand right but Kruger ducks down to avoid it.
Tripplet throws a lazy right hand but Kruger sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice defenses there by Kruger.
Kruger ducks under a wild hook from Tripplet.
Tripplet tests Kruger's chin there with a solid looking shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tripplet moves out of range of the strikes.
Kruger has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Barbell Brigade in the buildup to the fight.
Kruger tries to clinch but Tripplet moves away
letting Tripplet counter with a right hand.
Kruger swings for the body but Tripplet moves out of range.
Kruger is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Kruger is rocked!

It looks like Freddy Kruger has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kruger missing with a left hand there. Tripplet was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Oh Kruger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's one minute gone in the round.
BOOM! Tripplet lands a beautiful left hook that drops Kruger. Kruger tries to recover but Tripplet is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Kruger lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Bruce Tripplet looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I knew I would get my title back right away. If Kruger wants to do number 3 that will be no problem with me. In defeat, Freddy Kruger stepped up to the mic, saying 'it was a great match. The greatest test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without losing heart. It is not up to me whether I win or lose. Ultimately, this might not be my day. '.
